16 open holes targeting the up-dip target seams (C/D seams) were drilled. This data has facilitated an updated Resource Estimate and structural model, and has fed into a mining study as part of the pre-feasibility study. The drilling results were extremely positive, with increased drill hole spacing (approx. 1km) providing further proof of excellent seam continuity. This has enabled margin ranking to be completed, and identified the position of the first 10 year mine reserve.

Key highlights are the identification of a shallow weathering area in the north of the Hyde Park Coal Project, and a likely increase in up-dip tonnes, with continued minimal intersection of water through the key seams. In the south a drill hole within the recently acquired EPC2166 shows a strong continuity to the south with very clean coals at a drilled raw strip ratio (BCM/T) of approximately 3.5:1

On the 29th April 2016 the Hyde Park Coal Project was given "Project Status" by the QLD Government. A recognition of the significance of the project for QLD. This effectively combines the three EPC's (1754, 2050 & 2166) into one project.
